One year after finally sobering up after two decades of alcohol and drug abuse, future WWE Hall of Fame star Jake "The Snake" Roberts learned he has cancer. According to TMZ on Feb. 23, Roberts noticed the problem last month and had it tested.
Luckily, it should prove to something that Roberts can have removed from his body and should not prove to be life threatening.
Roberts discovered something behind his knee last month and had it tested. The tests came back to reveal that Roberts has a cancerous tumor behind his knee. He will have surgery on Tuesday to have it removed and he said he will plans to wrestle on March 14 at an independent show.
When the news broke that Jake Roberts had cancer, it created a scare because, after his history of alcohol and drugs, it could have been much worse. The fact that it is a tumor that can be removed makes it much easier to accept.
There is also the fact that Roberts now has a solid support system with Diamond Dallas Page and the men who help run his DDP Yoga Accountability Crib.
"If the devil can't defeat me, cancer doesn't stand a chance in hell," Roberts told TMZ. "Pray for sick children who face this horrible disease 'cause The Snake will be just fine."
Jake "The Snake" Roberts made his return to the WWE on the old school "WWE Monday Night Raw" television show, which was a huge surprise. He was then announced as the next entrant into the WWE Hall of Fame, entering this year alongside The Ultimate Warrior.
