Despite his arrest last week after leaving the "WWE Smackdown" tapings for DUI and marijuana possession, Jack Swagger returned to the ring over the weekend for a house show match. According to WrestleZone on Feb. 25, Swagger beat Sin Cara in College Station, TX.
When Swagger was arrested with drugs in his possession, rumors began to swirl that he would lose his push. The WWE wellness policy considers an arrest involving drugs to be equal to failing a drug test, which is an automatic 30-day suspension. Rey Mysterio and Randy Orton have both suffered through suspensions for failing drug tests.
However, when R-Truth and Evan Bourne failed their drug tests last year, Bourne was immediately suspended but R-Truth's suspension was delayed due to a current storyline he was involved in. The WWE might be delaying any punishment for Swagger until they see how his court case turns out.
WWE rumors state that Swagger was supposed to win the world championship at Wrestlemania, and those plans might need to be changed if a suspension is forthcoming. What Swagger has going for him is the Glenn Beck controversy as the political talk show host has insulted wrestling and the millions of wrestling fans by standing on a pedestal. This publicity is something the WWE has always thrived on.
Jack Swagger has been pushed strong since his return, so tonight's "WWE Monday Night Raw" will go a long ways in showing how the WWE plans to treat Jack Swagger after his recent arrest.
