WWE news: Jack Swagger arrested for DUI and marijuana possession

The WWE just brought back Jack Swagger, gave him a brand new manager, pushed him to the moon with a win in the Elimination Chamber and had set him up for a main event at Wrestlemania. TMZ reported on Feb. 20 that Jack Swagger was arrested by Mississippi police after the "WWE Smackdown" tapings for alleged DUI and possession of marijuana.

The report from TMZ said that Swagger was leaving the "Smackdown" tapings when he was pulled over for speeding. If he was just leaving the tapings, it makes it look like the DUI charge might have been for smoking the marijuana. While the exact details are unknown, Swagger was charged with DUI, marijuana possession and speeding. All three charges are misdemeanors and the police released Swagger under his own recognizance.

TMZ also contacted the WWE who said that “Mr. Swagger is responsible for his own personal actions.”

While that is all well and good, the WWE has almost a zero tolerance policy for drugs. Evan Bourne and R-Truth were both suspended for failing a drug test involving synthetic marijuana and Randy Orton is one suspension away from termination. The incredibly popular Rey Mysterio was also recently suspended. With Jack Swagger on his way to Wrestlemania, there is a good chance the WWE comes down on him hard.

This was a public occurrence, thanks to TMZ, and if the WWE does nothing they will look hypocritical, especially in the eyes of men like Orton and Mysterio who have put in years with the company.

Don't be surprised if Swagger loses his title shot, his push is killed and the entire angle with Zeb Colter is eliminated after this incident. Jack Swagger's arrest leaves no one to blame but himself.
