WWE Diva Naomi suffered a serious eye injury on “WWE Monday Night Raw” two weeks ago and there were fears she would need surgery. However, Cageside Seats reported on Feb. 16 that Naomi will not require surgery but will still miss the next four to six weeks.
Naomi, one-half of the Funkadactyls, was wrestling on “WWE Monday Night Raw” in a tag team match when Aksana legitimately hit her in the eye with a knee, fracturing her eye socket. The WWE ordered tests to see if she would require surgery or not.
Luckily for Naomi and her fans, Dr. Amann of the WWE announced that she visited a specialist, and while she will miss the next four to six weeks, the injury was not as bad as feared. He said that neither the nerve nor the eye muscles were trapped in the fracture meaning that there is no need for surgery.
While this is good, the WWE now has to make a decision. Naomi was rumored to be facing AJ Lee for the Diva’s title at the “Elimination Chamber” pay-per-view, and some thought she was being set up to win the title. With Naomi out of the picture, possibly through “Wrestlemania 30,” the WWE will have to decide whether they will keep the title on Lee or move it off onto someone else.
