Goldust is making his return to “WWE Monday Night Raw” this week in defense of his younger half-brother Cody Rhodes. According to Wrestle Zone on Sept. 7, the return stems from a tweet that Goldust sent out last week.
Last week on “WWE Monday Night Raw,” Triple H fired Cody Rhodes from the WWE following his loss to Randy Orton in what was one of the matches of the night. This all stemmed from Rhodes speaking up to Triple H about the treatment of Daniel Bryan.
In reality, Cody Rhodes is getting married and asked for time off from the WWE for his honeymoon and to enjoy his time as a newlywed.
Goldust is continuing the angle with Cody Rhodes out of action. When Cody left the building after he was fired, he delivered a shoot promo about how the McMahon family hated the Rhodes family, and did everything they could to embarrass his father Dusty Rhodes with yellow polka dots and dancing and his brother Dustin Rhodes with the Goldust gimmick.
Well, Goldust tweeted straight to Triple H, calling it an “injustice” and asking what he can do to get Cody Rhodes a second chance in the WWE. “WWE Monday Night Raw” general manager responded by letting Goldust know that if he can beat Randy Orton on “Raw” next week, and if Cody Rhodes apologizes, that Rhodes can have his job back.
“WWE Monday Night Raw” airs on Monday nights at 8 p.m. on USA.
