Former WWE world champion Superstar Billy Graham released a Facebook post on Jan. 24, and in it he continues to bash the promotion that made him a star. This time, he is requesting that the WWE remove him from their hall of fame.
The former WWF World Champion was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004, inducted by Triple H. Graham refers to that moment as an honor, and he remained for a while under a legend's deal where he made a couple of appearances, the WWE helped promote his biography and a DVD of his career was released by the company. Graham was paid for both the Hall of Fame appearance and the subsequent appearances as well.
This was great because it looked like the longstanding problems between Graham and the WWE were over with. It all started back in 1992, when Graham appeared on a talk show with Vince McMahon during the steroid trials and claimed that Pat Patterson groped underage ring workers. He later admitted that he lied to make the WWE look bad.
The WWE forgave and forgot, but now Graham is on the warpath again.
He already launched into a tirade recently against CM Punk. During a promo, Punk said he was better than the men who held the title longer than him (Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund and Pedro Morales) because wrestlers today travel more and wrestle more than they did back then. He said this as a heal to put himself over, which is his job.
Graham launched into him for disrespecting men like Bruno Sammartino, which caused Chris Jericho to come to Punk's defense. Jericho and Graham had a war of words, but now Graham has moved on to the WWE as a company.
In 2011, the WWE inducted hardcore legend Abdullah the Butcher into the WWE Hall of Fame, and that is when Graham first demanded to be removed. He claimed that Abdullah was infecting wrestlers with Hepatitis C by sharing a blade to draw blood, sometimes without the other wrestler's consent.
Now, Superstar Billy Graham is once again demanding that the WWE remove him from their Hall of Fame for the same reason.
