WWE news: Donald Trump Hall of Fame announcement

Despite WWE rumors claiming that this was the year that Cyndi Lauper was entering the WWE Hall of Fame, the company chose someone else to enter their celebrity wing for 2013. According to Wrestling Inc on Feb. 25, the WWE released a new video announcing the induction of Donald Trump to their 2013 WWE Hall of Fame class.

Trump has been involved with the WWE on numerous occasions. He first appeared at Wrestlemania IV in 1988 and Wrestlemania V in 1989. The WWE re-introduced Trump to WWE audiences in 2009 when he bought the WWE from out from under Vince McMahon, leading to a big match at Wrestlemania XXIII when Trump shaved Vince McMahon bald.

Even more recently, Trump served as one of the special social media ambassadors for the WWE on "WWE Monday Night Raw."

Donald Trump joins the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame class alongside Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund, Mick Foley and Trish Stratus. Trump is part of the "celebrity wing" of the hall, alongside names like Drew Carey, Pete Rose, Bob Uecker, Mike Tyson and William "The Refrigerator" Perry.

The WWE Hall of Fame inductions take place on Saturday, April 6, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
