Konnan has been doing interviews recently as well as taking part in Twitter question and answer sessions and has been openly critical of the WWE. According to prowrestling.com on Oct. 29, one of his targets struck back.
Konnan was asked who he felt should be taken off of television and he pulled out eight names. He said that “Raw” general manager Brad Maddox, Divas Rosa Mendes and Aksana, all three members of 3MB (Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre) and Intercontinental champion Curtis Axel should be written off of television.
He said that his choices were based on lack of marketability or poor performances. On the other hand, Konnan felt that both Dolph Ziggler and Antonio Cesaro were underused and deserved bigger pushes. As for Axel, Konna called him boring “wonder bread.”
Axel, a third generation star – the son of Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig and grandson of Larry “The Axe” Hennig – shot back on Twitter. He basically just said that Konnan is trying to get more social media popularity by talking about a real WWE superstar.
Konnan responded by saying he doesn’t care about social media popularity and doesn’t know Curtis Axel or have anything against him. However, he did say that his opinion remains the same because Axel has “zero charisma” for a WWE superstar.
