The news that Chris Jericho had returned to the WWE was a huge surprise. While the fans might have been shocked when word leaked that Jericho was at “WWE Monday Night Raw,” the deal was actually a last minute agreement as well. According to PWInsider on Wednesday, Jericho didn’t even come to an agreement to return until last Friday night.
Jericho said that he and Triple H worked out the terms of his return “in about five minutes” when they sat down to hash it out. As far as first contact, Jericho said that happened about a month ago when the WWE called him. Jericho said that they originally wanted him to wrestle Daniel Bryan at “Wrestlemania 30” but those plans were scrapped because it just couldn’t work out schedule-wise.
Then, the WWE called him and asked if he would like to work a program with Bray Wyatt. Jericho and his band Fozzy have their new album “Do You Wanna Start a War” hits in July. While it looked like Jericho was coming back for just a short time to promote the new album, it looks to be a lot longer than that. Jericho said that Fozzy was trying to get on a summer tour, but plans fell through on that which opened the door for his WWE return.
The first match for Chris Jericho will be against The Miz on “WWE Monday Night Raw” next week. “Nature Boy” Ric Flair is supposed to be managing The Miz but there is no telling if that will happen anytime soon. However, with the Bray Wyatt feud coming up, there is expectations that the match with The Miz will end with Wyatt attacking once again. This isn’t a part time deal either, as Jericho said that he will work about a full-time schedule including the upcoming tour of Japan.
