On “WWE Monday Night Raw” this week, the show ended with Triple H cutting a promo about how Daniel Bryan is not a star. He also name dropped Edge, Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam. According to Rajah on Oct. 22, Edge responded to the promo on Twitter.
Triple H basically said if he was to return to the ring, it would be to face an A+ star like The Undertaker and not someone like Daniel Bryan. He then said that Bryan reminds him of people like Edge, Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam and that if those people were the “faces of the WWE” in his era, they would all be working for Ted Turner right now, implying WCW would have won the Monday Night Wars.
When a fan asked Edge what his thought about the “dumba**” promo about him not being a star, Edge dismissed the entire situation. Edge basically said that no one remembers that it is entertainment and no more real than Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, although he does feel rabbits are sneaky.
Chris Jericho took the other road. He went to Twitter and said that Triple H was never able to carry the company either when he was given his push. Of course, Shawn Michaels also mentioned that when he was talking to Triple H on the show.
While Triple H is the bad guy in this situation, some backstage are rumored to be worried that he might end up burying Daniel Bryan in a way where WWE fans stop taking him seriously as a challenger.
