With the win, Lesnar becomes the new WWE Heavyweight Champion. No official word yet from from the WWE, but there's a strong possibility he will advance to take on Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 31. Since Reigns won his WWE SummerSlam 2014 pay-per-view battle against Randy Orton, the stars may be aligned for the former Shield member to take on Lesnar at Wrestlemania 31.

Reigns' win over Orton was the biggest victory of his career, as he turned in a dynamic performance in the WWE SummerSlam 2014 co-main. As for Cena, he was absolutely overwhelmed in the match with Lesnar. Besides a few quick flurries, it was a rather one-sided affair, as Lesnar rocked him with brutal ground-and-pound, along with solid defense. Cena appeared to be dazed within 30 minutes of the match, after Lesnar pounded on him with punches to the head.

Cena was unable to recover, and Lesnar never let the pace drop. No word yet from the WWE if Cena was legitimately injured during the match, but he appears to be staggered as the ref in charge kept a close eye on him as the match wore on. Elsewhere on the WWE SummerSlam 2014 card, Paige shocked the world by defeating AJ Lee, and Rusev won in a singles match against Jack Swagger. Additionally, Stephanie McMahon defeated Brie Bella after Nikki Bella made a shocking heel turn.

Also on the WWE SummerSlam 2014 main card, Dolph Ziggler beat The Miz, to notch the WWE Intercontinental Championship. In other action Bray Wyatt got over the hump by defeating Chris Jericho, and Rod Van Dam defeated Cesaro. WWE SummerSlam 2014, the 27th SummerSlam event in WWE history, went down at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
