WWE news: Brie Bella to confront Stephanie McMahon on Monday Night Raw in Austin

According to an Aug. 4 report from MStarz.com, Brie Bella is expected to confront WWE head honcho Stephanie McMahon on WWE Monday Night Raw in Austin, in anticipation of their match that will go down on Aug. 17 at the SummerSlam pay-per-view spectacular in Los Angeles. Bella and McMahon have been feuding for months, and it will culminate with them going toe-to-toe two weeks from now at SummerSlam.

Last week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw ended with Bella and McMahon arguing with each other. McMahon asked Bella to drop the assault and battery charges she has against her, and the WWE Divas Division superstar agreed to do so under one condition. Bella said she would drop the charges against McMahon if she would agreed to battle her at SummerSlam. McMahon had no choice but to accept Bella's challenge, as she doesn't want to find herself in court.

Of course, Bella's feud with McMahon is just part of an elaborate storyline. McMahon and Bella get along just fine in real life. The assault and battery charges aren't real, but actually part of a story to hype SummerSlam. In real life, Bella and McMahon are business associates who work together under the WWE banner.

The real surprise is that the Bella vs. McMahon angle is one of the hottest storylines heading into SummerSlam, perhaps even hotter than the one between John Cena and Brock Lesnar. Cena and Lesnar will both be absent from tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, so the WWE loses another chance to hype the main event of SummerSlam.

That said, Bella's feud with McMahon may once again steal the show heading into the pay-per-view. Elsewhere on WWE Monday Night Raw in Austin, Dean Ambrose is expected to collide with Seth Rollins, to drum up support for their SummerSlam bout. Additionally, Paul Heyman is expected to appear to do his part to try to sell Lesnar vs. Cena, even though neither of the athletes are slated to appear tonight.

Also on tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, the promotion will reveal AJ Lee's injury status. Lee suffered a whiplash injury on last week's episode of Smackdown, so the rumor is that she might be unable to compete at SummerSlam. The WWE will announce tonight on Monday Night Raw if she is okay to compete two weeks from now on the show. In other matters, Chris Jericho is slated to continue his feud with Bray Wyatt. WWE Monday Night Raw airs at 8 p.m. on the USA Network.
