WWE news: Batista contract to be for two years

The new Batista contract with the WWE will be for two years and will include time off for when he promotes his movies, such as this summer's Marvel Comics blockbuster "Guardians of the Galaxy." According to Wrestle View on Jan. 11, the contract will start with the "WWE Monday Night Raw" before the "Royal Rumble" pay-per-view.

The first match of the new Batista contract will be the actual Royal Rumble match itself as he fights for a chance to fight for the WWE World Championship.

While the return of Batista is great for his fans and brings a quality former star back to the fold, he has also ruffled some feathers before he even steps foot back in a WWE ring. It is common knowledge that the reason Batista quit in the first place is because he fell in love with the WWE during the Attitude Era and felt the watered down PG product was uninteresting to him.

Now that he is coming back, his first feud looks to be with Alberto Del Rio. Over the last two weeks, Del Rio has been talking about Batista and saying he will target him in the Royal Rumble match.

Batista commented on the Del Rio promos on Twitter and Del Rio responded by making fun of Batista's MMA fight, saying he was beat up by a plumber. Batista then responded by calling Del Rio a C-list wrestler in an era of B-list WWE stars. With that one comment, many wrestlers backstage felt that Batista buried the entire locker room.

While this is something that Triple H does all the time, Triple H is a villain and Batista is supposed to be a good guy. The tweet has been removed, but it will be interesting to see how Batista is accepted after those comments.
