When AJ Lee allegedly released an obscenity-laced outburst at NBC news personality Michelle Beadle at the "Tribute to the Troops" show, it looked like she might be in some hot water. However, according to prowrestling.com on Dec. 20, the WWE has simply used damage control to downplay the event.
The incident allegedly happened because AJ Lee saw Michelle Beadle talking to CM Punk. There has been rumors in the past that Beadle and Punk have a past, and that might have played into it. There was also backstage talk that Beadle said something to Punk that Lee felt was inappropriate.
After the incident, which was witnessed by a number of people, a WWE superstar stepped up and said that Lee's outburst was being over-reported. Beadle then went onto Twitter and said that she thought Lee was just joking. Apparently, the WWE contacted Beadle and asked her to say something about the incident to help the news die down.
CM Punk, however, went to Twitter and said that he found it hard to do the right thing when the company he works for doesn't practice the same standards. He then went on the next day and began tweeting about hockey, which made the WWE mad since there was a PPV that night that they felt he should be promoting.
It now seems like the WWE pulled some strings to get the right things said to take the heat off of AJ Lee. Beadle returned to Twitter to say that
