With all the concussion problems in the news recently, this is one area the WWE no longer messes around with. They have already banned chair shots to the head and only allow Undertaker and Kane to execute the piledriver. However, in any contact sport, concussions can occur.
This is similar to when AJ Lee’s former partner Dolph Ziggler suffered a concussion at the hands of Jack Swagger while Ziggler was still the world champion. The WWE completely eliminated the world title match from that pay-per-view and Ziggler had to wait until he was medically cleared to return.
Ziggler’s was so severe that he suffered almost two days worth of amnesia.
AJ Lee got her concussion in the match with Brie Bella at “WWE Battleground.” According to WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann, Lee said she hit her head on the turnbuckle and had difficulty remembering parts of her match. She had balance and memory recall problems and was sent home.
AJ Lee will be out of action in the WWE until she passes her follow-up tests.
