WWE Network to push NXT as it's pure wrestling alternative

The WWE is planning to push NXT Wrestling very hard over the next few months, especially with it airing exclusively on the WWE Network. According to on March 6, the WWE will consider the NXT to be their “pure wrestling product.”

This is great news for the fans of the WWE who prefer quality wrestling to overblown storylines, especially in a WWE world where storylines are cancelled and buried for any number of reasons, making following the WWE product frustrating at times.

The NXT is the developmental territory for the WWE, with a solid mix of both younger stars as well as independent wrestling veterans. This means that, while the talent might not be as polished as the main WWE roster, there is still a lot of experienced stars in the NXT.

This is also bad news for TNA Impact Wrestling since NXT will air every Thursday night on the WWE Network for one hour, which will go head-to-head with TNA’s weekly television show’s first hour. With the amazing show that WWE put out last week with the “NXT: Arrival” special, there is high hopes that the show will remain popular as a WWE Network exclusive.

There is also the fact that the WWE Network is the perfect place for this type of show since mainstream television is not interested in pure wrestling shows and prefers the more story driven soap opera styled television that “WWE Monday Night Raw” puts out.
