WWE Monday Night Raw: Wade Barrett vs Rob Van Dam results

According to an April 28 report from Fansided, Wade Barrett takes on Rob Van Dam tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw. Whoever wins the clash between Van Dam and Barrett advances to a title fight against WWE Intercontinental Champ Big E. Barrett and Van Dam are both former WWE title holders, so it's unclear at present time who is more likely to win.

Barrett has been getting a huge push lately from WWE Universe, especially since his Bad News Barrett gimmick went over well with fans. However, Van Dam is back in action for the first time in years, and WWE supporters absolutely would like to see him back as a world champion. Van Dam is known for his high-flying techniques, which have made him a fan favorite through the years.

Also on tap for tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, Daniel Bryan returns for the first time since his father passed away. Bryan was granted a break from the WWE after his father passed less than a month ago, and he was written off the script for last week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

Now that Bryan is back in action, its expected that WWE head honcho Stephanie McMahon will apologize to him for the beating Kane gave to him a couple weeks ago. In other matters, tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw will feature at least two celebrity guests.

WWE Monday Night Raw, which emanates from the Scottrade Center in Saint Louis, will have Hugh Jackson as special guest host, plus an appearance from WWE legend Ric Flair. Tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw will be the last before the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, so the WWE has lots of storylines to tighten up before that event.

Also on tap for this evening, John Cena is expected to continue his feud with Bray Wyatt, and The Usos will take on Curtis Axel and Ryback in a tag-team championship match. WWE Divas champ Paige will also likely defend her title this evening. WWE Monday Night Raw airs at 8 p.m. on the USA Network.

In a match that won't air on television, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, and the Shield take on Batista, Randy Orton and the Wyatt Family. That bout will only be viewable by the crowd on hand in Saint Louis. Bryan and Orton are expected to be on the televised portion of the evening as well.
