WWE 'Monday Night Raw' recap, results: The fallout from 'Payback'

Did Evolution survive The Shield at "Payback?"
Did Evolution survive The Shield at "Payback?"

A mere 24 hours after all that happened at WWE "Payback," the superstars are ready to move on to the next steps in their carers. Some were able to survive the events of the pay-per-view, but would they be the same? On the evening of June 2, 2014, WWE "Monday Night Raw" began to lead the way to the next big event, but some serious changes were in store.

If you haven't yet seen WWE "Monday night Raw" or don't want to know the results, then stop reading now.

~ Evolution came out to start the show and Triple H said that they won't rest until The Shield doesn't exist any longer. Batista still wants his one-on-one title match he is promised, but Trips says no-one is getting anything right now. With that, Batista quits and walks out which sets Triple H off.

~ RVD and Sheamus defeated Bad News Barrett and Cesaro in a really good tag match. Near the end, Sheamus went to Brogue Kick Cesaro and Paul Heyman pulled him out of the ring. Cesaro bailed on the match and that saw Barrett get the Brogue Kick and a 5-Star Frog Splash to be pinned by RVD.

~ Damien Sandow to get some cheap heat but it ended with Big Show hitting him with the KO Punch. This was pointless.

~ Bo Dallas defeated Kofi Kingston with the running Bo-Dog. This was mainly to build up Dallas as Kofi hardly got in any offense at all.

~ Stephanie McMahon came to the ring and went off on Daniel Bryan. She said that in four weeks at "Money In The Bank," if Bryan can compete, he will face Kane for the WWE title in a Stretcher Match. If he can't go, the WWE title will be up for grabs in the Money in the Bank ladder match.

John Cena decided to come out and ramble for a bit to put Steph down. She decided to give Cena a match against Kane right now.

~ Cena won his match against Kane by disqualification. Kane was hitting Cena in the corner and refused to stop by the ref's five-count. After the match, Kane tried to tombstone Cena on the steps but it was countered. Cena then threw the steel steps at Kane as that seems to be his new thing.

~ Lost Matadores made quick work of 3MB, but it was mostly for El Torito and Hornswoggle to get some "laughs."

~ Alicia Fox and Aksana defeated Nikki Bella in a handicap match. It appears this was to teach Nikki and her sister a lesson.

~ Luke Harper and Erick Rowan talk about the Usos needing to suffer for their misdeeds.

~ After a few weeks of build-up, Adam Rose defeated Jack Swagger with the Party Foul. Really wish they had given Rose something more for his first real feud on the main roster.

~ Luke Harper and Erick Rowan defeated the Usos after a really good tag match on free TV. The finish came when Rowan tagged in and blocked a big kick from Jey Uso and then hit a sidewalk slam/Rock Bottom type move for the clean win. This looks to be leading to a tag title match soon for the Wyatts.

~ Alberto Del Rio defeated Dolph Ziggler ina MITB qualifying match. This match was what it was and the push to nowhere continues for Ziggler. Seriously, he is getting buried and no-one cares about Del Rio whatsoever. Now, he's in one of the year's bigger matches. Hooray.

~ Cody Rhodes picked a new tag team partner for Goldust, and it was Sin Cara. They took on Rybaxel and Goldust was beaten down for a good five minutes. Sin Cara was tagged in, missed a flying swanton, and Curtis Axel hit a hangman's facebuster for the win.

~ Lana introduces Rusev who comes out waving a Russian flag. He then cuts a promo and tells the fans to stand up for the Russian national anthem. This was pointless and Rusev is the 2014 version of heel Nikolai Volkoff.

~ The Shield is in the ring and talking about how they beat Evolution last night and that they are still united as one. Randy Orton and Triple H come to ringside and Trips says that he doesn't lose a war because there is always a plan B.

Triple H, with sledgehammer, and Orton go to get in the ring and The Shield prepares to fight. That is when Seth Rollins turns on Roman Reigns and hits him in the back with a chair. He then nails a shocked Dean Ambrose and curb stomps him. Orton hits an RKO on Reigns on a chair and the three celebrate over the remaining two members of The Shield.
