“WWE Monday Night Raw” on Sept. 9 saw the return of Goldust and Daniel Bryan in the main event against Dean Ambrose of The Shield. Here is the “WWE Monday Night Raw” recap and results for this week’s show.
The show opened with WWE Hall of Fame superstar Edge coming out to the ring for an episode of The Cutting Edge. He said that Triple H wanted him to interview Randy Orton but that Orton had nothing in his head, so he chose Daniel Bryan instead. After the two chatted some, Randy Orton came out.
Orton and Edge traded insults until Edge said that Triple H doesn’t recognize real talent, and he didn’t think Chris Jericho, John Cena or Edge could ever be stars. Triple H came out and said he was wrong about Y2J and Cena, but he was right about Edge, who never brought in a dime. He then had The Shield drag out a beaten down Christian to prove he is a jerk.
In the first match on “Raw,” Kofi Kingston and Curtis Axel had a rematch. Last week, Kingston pinned Axel and this week, Axel lost by DQ. If either of those things happens on Sunday at “Night of Champions,” then CM Punk gets his hands on Paul Heyman. This caused Heyman to fake a knee injury later on the show, only for Punk to disprove it.
Still being punished, Dolph Ziggler wrestled Bray Wyatt in the next match. Bray picked up the win with Sister Abigail when his disciples interfered.
In a Divas match, Natalya, Naomi and Brie Bella beat Layla, Alicia Fox and Aksana when Natalya made Alicia tap out.
Up next was Alberto Del Rio beating R-Truth by submission, followed by Santino Marella making his return to the WWE to beat Antonio Cesaro. Following that, The Miz lost to Damien Sandow when Fandango distracted Miz.
Goldust made his return next to wrestle Randy Orton. If he wins, he gets Cody Rhodes his job back, but in a great match, Goldust lost to Orton. After the match, Stephanie McMahon asks Goldust what it is like to be a failure to prove she is a jerk.
Rob Van Dam wrestled Ryback next and won the match by disqualification when RVD started to win so Ryback crotched him on the ring post because he’s a bully.
The main event of the “WWE Monday Night Raw” results saw Daniel Bryan wrestle Dean Ambrose. The Shield were at ringside with Ambrose while Big Show was at Bryan’s side. Before the match, Stephanie McMahon told Big Show that if he touched The Shield, he would be fired.
Daniel Bryan won a great match with a small package. After the match, Randy Orton came out but Bryan took the fight to him. The Shield evened the odds and Big Show couldn’t do anything about it. Finally Orton hit the RKO and then Triple H came out and ordered Big Show to knock out Bryan again. Big Show refused and then Bryan ended “WWE Monday Night Raw” by kneeing an unsuspecting Orton in the face and standing tall with the title belt.
