This week’s “WWE Monday Night Raw” is the final one before the big “Extreme Rules” special event. According to WWE.com on Sunday, this week’s “Raw” will see the return of Hollywood star Hugh Jackman as a special guest and Stephanie McMahon is supposed to issue Daniel Bryan an apology for last week’s attack. Here is a look at tonight’s “WWE Monday Night Raw” preview.
When it comes to Hugh Jackman, he will just be another special guest such as Arnold Schwarzenegger last month. However, the angle they are pushing is his reconciliation with Dolph Ziggler. The last time Jackman was on “Raw,” he got into an argument with Ziggler and then punched Ziggler, to allow Zack Ryder to win the match against him. With Ziggler as a good guy, this will either be a chance to make up or a chance for Ziggler to turn heel again.
The biggest news on tonight’s show surrounds the “Extreme Rules” main event where Daniel Bryan defends his WWE world championship against Kane. Last week, the show opened with Kane attacking Bryan and dropping him with three tombstone piledrivers. This week, Stephanie McMahon is supposed to get Bryan an apology, but that isn’t likely to happen. However, Bryan and Kane should face off once again tonight to sell this weekend’s event.
Also coming up on Sunday is the big battle between Evolution and The Shield. Two weeks ago, Evolution beat down The Shield. Last week, The Shield called out Evolution, but the three superstars hid behind a group of heels to protect them from The Shield. With less than a week to go, will the two sides finally battle tonight? Also, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair makes his return tonight, but will he stand with Evolution or against them?
Also on hand tonight is the finals of the tournament to crown a new number one contender to the Intercontinental title. Rob Van Dam battles Bad News Barrett in the finals, with the winner getting a title shot against Big E at “Extreme Rules.” With Cesaro losing to Rob Van Dam last week after Jack Swagger interfered, and knowing Paul Heyman’s history with Van Dam, will Cesaro get involved? “WWE Monday Night Raw” airs at 8 p.m. EST on USA.
