WWE Monday Night Raw promises a big shocking ending

The first WWE Monday Night Raw of 2013 will be a hard one to win in the television ratings war. The main competition is the national championship football game between Notre Dame and Alabama. As a result, on Jan. 7 the WWE promoted the return of The Rock and a WWE Championship match.

While all the main event matches in the world won't beat the national championship game in the ratings, WWE fans have a lot to look forward to with tonight's Raw. It all starts with the return of The Rock, who said that the WWE will start a story tonight that will culminate with his main event match at this year's Wrestlemania.

That might surround the WWE Championship match between CM Punk and Ryback. This is Punk's first match back from his knee surgery and is the "tables, ladders and chairs" match originally scheduled for December's TLC PPV. Rumor has it The Rock will get into an angle with Ryback to tease a Ryback win, but right now the match still looks to be with CM Punk at the Royal Rumble.

Also on tap for Raw tonight is the continuation of the feud between John Cena and Dolph Ziggler. Last week, the show ended with Cena setting up Ziggler and AJ Lee to end up with feces dropped on them from the ceiling. How they react this week will determine how their feud leads into the Royal Rumble.

The WWE also teased an angle to end the show that will set the wrestling world buzzing.

WWE Monday Night Raw airs at 8 p.m. EST on USA.
