WWE Monday Night Raw preview: Extreme Rules fallout continues

According to a May 5 report from Cageside Seats, the WWE heads to the Times Union Center in Albany, New York, this evening for a special episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. Tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw is expected to tie up the loose ends of the storylines regarding the Extreme Rules special event that went down one night earlier in New Jersey.

WWE Universe was shocked to see The Shield defeat Evolution at Extreme Rules, so the supergroup of Randy Orton, Triple H and Batista is expected to seek revenge during tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw. Also on tap for tonight, WWE head honcho Stephanie McMahon is expected to address how she feels about Daniel Bryan remaining WWE heavyweight champion.

As WWE fans know by now, Bryan defeated Kane at Extreme Rules. McMahon can't be too pleased about that, so she'll address the matter tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw. Later on the card, the WWE is expected to discuss Batista's contract situation. Batista is reportedly only staying with the WWE until their Payback special event, which goes live on June 1.

On tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, there is expected to be more of an explanation as to why Bray Wyatt recruited a demon child, Little Johny, for his Extreme Rules bout against John Cena. Wyatt won the Extreme Rules contest by escaping the cage, and Cena was apparently scared about the demon child ordeal.

WWE Monday Night Raw is expected to feature plenty of fallout from the Extreme Rules special event. Paige defended her WWE Divas belt at Extreme Rules by pinning Tamina Snuka, and she's expected to be back in action tonight against another fast-rising female superstar.

AJ Lee is taking a small break from the WWE, so there's no chance the British striker will be taking her on tonight. With that said, expect Paige to keep up her winning ways against other divas until Lee returns. The WWE may want to script Paige to battle Lee at a future pay-per-view event.

Also on the card for tonight at WWE Monday Night Raw, fans will learn the aftermatch of Bad News Barrett's victory over Big E. Barrett won the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules, and he'll have a chance to defend the belt this evening. Barrett's first three title reigns weren't all that memorable, but he has emerged into a fan favorite.

No matches have officially been announced for tonight's show, but several rematches from Extreme Rules are expected. Daniel Bryan, John Cena and Bray Wyatt are confirmed to be appearing on tonight's episode. WWE Monday Night Raw goes live at 8 p.m. on the USA Network.
