WWE Monday Night Raw preview: Daniel Bryan to be stripped of his belt?

According to a May 19 report from Mstars News, the biggest question heading into tonight's edition of WWE Monday Night Raw is if the WWE will strip Daniel Bryan of the WWE Heavyweight Championship belt. Bryan, 32, is expected to be out of action for at least two months due to the neck surgery he recently completed, and the WWE might not want to be without a champion for that long.

Speculation from WWE Universe is that the promotion will crown an interim champion while Bryan recovers. The WWE could do a tournament to determine the new champ, or perhaps a battle royale. Time will tell how the situation plays out, but it seems unlikely the WWE will keep Bryan as champion while he's sidelined. Triple H and company want to do whats best for business, and that means having a champion who isn't injured.

Elsewhere, Hulk Hogan will be appearing tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw. The WWE hasn't yet announced what he'll be doing on the show, but there's no chance he actually steps in the ring to wrestle. In all likelihood, Hogan will hop into the ring for some work on the mic to promote the WWE Network. In other action, John Cena and Bray Wyatt continue to feud in anticipation of next month's WWE "Payback" special event.

Wyatt got the best of Cena earlier this month at WWE Extreme Rules, but "Payback" is all about revenge. Cena and Wyatt are expected to continue to squabble tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw. If Cena doesn't fight Wyatt himself, the WWE will likely set him up to take on another member of The Wyatt Family. Wyatt defeated Cena at Extreme Rules by escaping the ring. Cena was distracted by a demon child standing ringside.

Another feud stemming from Extreme Rules is the heat between The Shield and Evolution. Last week on "Raw," The Shield sneak-attacked Triple H, Batista and the rest of the Evolution crew. Fans can expect Evolution to get some payback tonight, and continue the feud to build towards next month's "Payback" special event. To spice up the rivalry, it is rumored that Sheamus will be turning heel and joining the Evolution crew.

Also on tonight's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, the WWE will likely continue to try to get Rusev and Adam Rose over with the fans. Rusev and Rose have been getting a lot of attention lately, but they aren't fully over with the fans. Both men have a ton of potential. Tonight could be the night where WWE Universe see what they can do on a major platform.

Will Kane or Big Show take Bryan's spot as new WWE Heavyweight Champ? Will Paige retain her Divas championship? Those questions will also be answered tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw. The episode airs at 8 p.m. on the USA Network.
