WWE Monday Night Raw preview: CM Punk returns to the ring in Chicago?

According to a March 2 report from WWE.com, The Shield battles The Wyatt Family during tomorrow night's WWE Monday Night Raw taping in Chicago, Ill.

The Shield fought The Wyatt Family at "Elimination Chamber" two weeks ago, and Roman Reigns duked it out with Bray Wyatt in a singles match on last week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

Despite wrestling each other two weeks in a row, there is still apparently a lingering beef between the two parties. The Wyatt Family won easily at "Elimination Chamber," and Wyatt also had no trouble finishing Reigns last week on "Raw."

Perhaps this week the tides will turn back in The Shield's favor if the WWE scrips Ambrose or Reigns to reign supreme. There's also a chance that Ambrose and Reigns finally turn on each other for good, since the WWE has been teasing The Shield's breakup for weeks.

No other bouts have officially been announced, but the WWE hinted that Batista will be competing against whoever is considered to be the No. 1 contender behind Dolph Ziggler. As WWE fans know by now, Batista knocked off Ziggler during last week's episode.

Also on the WWE Monday Night Raw card slated for Chicago, Daniel Bryan is rumored to be competing against Triple H. The bout hasn't been made official, but Bryan and Triple H are both penciled in to appear at the show, according to WWE.com.

Tomorrow night's episode is also expected to feature a bout between John Cena and another top WWE superstar. The topper of it all is that “Need For Speed” and “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul is set to guest star on the Chicago episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, CM Punk is rumored to make his grand return to the ring, over a month after his last WWE appearance.

WWE reporter Dave Meltzer was among the first to report the news that Punk would be returning. However, it's just a rumor at present time.

If Punk does return to the WWE fold, it makes sense for it to be in Chicago. Punk was born and raised in Chicago, so WWE wrestling fans in "The Windy City" would go absolutely crazy if he decides to make a cameo there.

Otherwise, the WWE is going to have to deal with "CM Punk" chants all night.

Here's a look at the bouts set for tomorrow night's episode of Monday Night Raw in Chicago:

  • The Shield vs The Wyatt Family
  • Daniel Bryan vs Triple H
