WWE Metallica brings the metal for The Undertaker vs. Triple H at Wrestlemania

Metallica’s “Memory Remains” from their multi-platinum 1997 album Reload is being used for this year’s Wrestlemania match between the legendary Undertaker and Triple H. The song is expected to be used on WWE RAW and WWE Smackdown in video packages to promote the big Pay Per View spectacular on April 1st in Miami,Florida.

A clip of the song was used last night on WWE RAW as it led up to Triple H (whose a big fan of heavy metal and hard rock) accepting the Undertaker’s challenge for a rematch from last year’s Wrestlemania. At WM27, ‘Taker won but was stretchered out of the Georgia Dome after the contest. The Game continuned the mind games and upped the ante, this time the King of Kings will meet the Deadman in a brutal Hell in a Cell match at Wrestlemania 28 on April 1st.

This is not the first time that music from Metallica has been used to amp up excitement for WWE action. Last year WWE featured “For Whom the Bell Tolls” from the ‘Ride the Lightning’ album for Triple H’s viking-themed entrance at Wrestlemania 27. Triple H has long used a series of different songs by metal icons, Motorhead for his regular entrance themes. Lemmy Killmiester and Co. have also performed live at several Wrestlemanias as well. WWE would really invigorate the ‘rock’ in wrestling if they could get Metallica to play at Wresltlemania 28 in Miami on April 1st, but that is purely speculative.
