'WWE Main Event' spoilers: Rhodes and Sandow in single's action

The WWE recorded their weekly "WWE Main Event" television show on Feb. 5, with both members of the former tag team The Rhodes Scholars in single's action on the show. Here is what went down at the television tapings.

Last week on "Smackdown," Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow told Booker T they were going to split up their tag team and focus on their solo careers, while also remaining friends. While this was a disappointing move, as Rhodes Scholars were the best team in the WWE, it will be interesting to see how their careers go from here.

The tapings opened with a dark match that won't be shown on television, as Bo Dallas beat Corey Graves.

The "WWE Main Event" television broadcast opened with a promo by Cody Rhodes. The second generation star said he refused to leave the ring until Booker T put him in the Elimination Chamber match. Booker T was not there, so Sheamus came out for a match.

Things did not go well for Rhodes and Sheamus beat him in a 15-minute match with the Brogue kick.

Damien Sandow came out next and promised to avenge Cody's loss. His opponent was one-half of the tag team champions, Daniel Bryan. The end came when Bryan was preparing for his finishing move when Kane's pyro exploded, startling Bryan and allowing Sandow to get the win with the neckbreaker.

In a third match, Cameron and Naomi (Brodus Clay's dancers) beat Aksana and Tamina Snuka.

"WWE Main Event" airs at 8 p.m. EST on Wednesday night on ION.
