The WWE pre-recorded their weekly "WWE Main Event" television show on March 5. Here is a look at what went down at the WWE television tapings.
Before the "WWE Main Event" tapings, the WWE recorded the matches for their "WWE Saturday Morning Slam" television show. Those tapings started off with a dark match where The Uso's beat the Prime Time Players in a tag team match.
The other two matches for the Saturday morning show featured Great Khali beating the tag team of Primo and Epico by sitting on Epico and then The Miz beat Damien Sandow by submission with the figure four.
The "WWE Main Event" tapings started out with promotion of Wade Barrett's new movie "Dead Man Down." This was followed by a match between Randy Orton and Barrett. These men have been fighting for almost a year now, and while the feud is old and finished, they still put on a nice main event quality match which Orton won with the RKO. Barrett's Intercontinental title was not on the line.
In the second match, Cody Rhodes beat Zack Ryder with the Cross Rhodes. This was an interesting fight because neither man has won many matches lately.
In the third match, Sin Cara actually beat United States Champion Antonio Cesaro in a shocking upset. The match was a non-title bout and Sin Cara won with a hurricanrana.
"WWE Main Event" airs on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. EST on Ion.
