Pro wrestling star Kurt Angle is once again rumored for a WWE return later this year, after a report posted today by Wrestlezone which states the current TNA wrestler is telling people at this weekend’s Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio that he is going to return to WWE in September. Angle’s current deal with TNA Wrestling is set to come to an end in September. For the past two months, the former WWE and TNA World Champion has been vocal in interviews about his desire to end his pro career in WWE. This would not be the first time that these rumors have been connected to Angle, as he has been vocal in recent interviews about a WWE comeback.
Kurt Angle who just came off an arthroscopic knee surgery last month, is set to face Ethan Carter III in a Steel Cage match on TNA’s Lockdown pay per view on March 9th at the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. This past Thursday on TNA IMPACT on Spike TV, Angle finally accepted his induction into the TNA Hall of Fame after delaying the honor since last year.
WWE has seen a parade of past rejoin the fold recently with the launch of their digital video service WWE Network with legends like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Bruno Sammartino all contributing to the company in some form recently. While TNA has seen many stars including Hogan, leave the company in the last year under growing financial pains.
Pro Wrestling Examiner’s Perspective: Angle is being pretty bold here if this report is indeed accurate. It would not be out of line as the ‘Wrestling Machine’ has been open about a WWE comeback for a couple months, going as far as to say he had a “desire” to end his career with the ‘E.
