WWE made their "groundbreaking announcement" tonight in Las Vegas with the unveiling of the WWE Network, a 24/7 digital distribution channel for the company and WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was present at the event but did not appear before the assembled crowd. Hogan has been rumored for months to be returning to WWE to participate in Wrestlemania 30 later this year in New Orleans. Pwinsider is reporting that Hogan was indeed backstage at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada tonight for the WWE Network launch announcement which was a part of the CES trade show in town.
According to the report, the Hulkster was hanging out with the Big Show but for whatever reason he did not appear on stage like 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, John Cena, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels. It is not clear why Hogan did not appear at the event, but it is believed that he has come to terms on some time of unconfirmed deal with WWE.
Other reports online earlier today through Wrestlezone stated that Hogan was backstage yesterday at WWE Smackdown tapings in Philladelphia, PA. Hogan at that live event, was seen by Wells-Fargo Arena staff but refused to take pictures with anyone.
Hulk Hogan has not appeared on WWE programming since 2007 and has not been an in-ring performer for the company since 2005. Last year, he left WWE's competitor TNA Impact after the two sides could not come to terms on a new deal. Hogan wrestled a few matches for TNA but served mainly as a producer and on-air authority figure for 'IMPACT' on Spike TV.
