WWE corporate executive and on-air character Stephanie McMahon trumped up the 30 year history of Wrestlemania memories and how the annual event has transcended into an event that putting “smiles on people’s faces” on many faces. McMahon also brought in the charity efforts of this year’s Mania campaign in New Orleans with children’s hospital visits, anti-bullying lectures, and pro-reading rallies for children. The daughter of WWE mastermind Vince McMahon proudly proclaimed WWE superstars and divas “the greatest entertainers in the world”.

WWE Hall of Famer and the host of the Wresltemania 30 Hulk Hogan took the podium where the American pop culture icon decked out in his red and yellow, shared some memories with the New Yorkers about how 30 years ago it all started in the Big Apple when he headlined the inaugural event. “We are all immortal now” said Hogan with the WWE Network which allows fans to watch live events like Sunday’s PPV and all the classic events.

WWE Executive Vice President Triple H hit the stage next, saying he was a fan before he broke into pro wrestling and he had a dream to be apart of it. The 13-time World champion ran down WWE’s huge global reach and how Wrestlemania is the “dream” of everyone involved in the wrestling world. Triple H took some time to show off NXT, a developmental promotion of young WWE hopefuls and how fans can enjoy this show on WWE Network with all of the special programming offered on the video subscription service. Playing off the ‘dream’ narrative, Trips said that his Wrestlemania opponent Daniel Bryan has a dream but as the Game he is more than a dream, he is “forever”.

Daniel Bryan joked about dreams being the things you think about and wish for, and how since his youth all he wanted to be was the best wrestler and to headline Wrestlemania. “It’s unreal. I got this opportunity, if I can beat Triple H. Which is no easy task, because he hates me.” said Bryan. “I am here because of the people, because the Yes Movement, because people would not let their voices be denied. We have way more people than the 3 or 4 people in the back.”

‘The Animal’ Batista made the biggest impact today with his time on the mic. The star of the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy” film complained at the podium about a sheet of ‘talking points’ he was given before speaking, saying whoever wrote should be fired. Then in a mocking skit Batista pretended to be a pessimistic wrestling fan yelling “bootista!”. “I have one pair of skinny jeans and I am going to wear them every week just to piss you off!” said the former WWE World Champion making a comedic reference to his questionable skinny jean fashions. After the laughter was done, the Animal professed his love for the WWE and promised this was the last time you would see him without the WWE World title around his waist.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton corrected the press event’s host Michael Cole, saying he forgot to call him the “face of the WWE”. The Viper gave his perspective as the champion heading into a Triple Threat match in the main event this Sunday at the Superdome. “Fans with even half a brain in the WWE Universe know that I will not only defend my WWE World title, I will retain it. They want to be there to witness it live.” said Orton.

WWE had their final episode of ‘RAW’ live last night from Washington D.C., and it appears a close-to-finalized card for WM30 is in place. You can read the full card of announced matches here.
