WWE Hall of Fame legend Rowdy Roddy Piper will make a special appearance on Ring of Wrestling's television show in January. According to Rajah.com on Dec. 23, Piper will appear at the Sinclair television taping for Ring of Honor on their first taping of the new year.
The way that Ring of Honor Wrestling tapes their TV shows is by filming three or four weeks at a time, so there is no telling if this will be a one-episode appearance, or if Piper will take part in numerous episodes. Ring of Honor also announced that autographs will be available for a fee.
The last time Roddy Piper was in the news, it was when the WWE released their video game for WWE 2K14 and the "Road to Wrestlemania" mode included none of Piper's matches, something that even surprised him when he learned of the exclusion.
These Ring of Honor television tapings will include the first rounds of the 2014 Top Prospect tournament, where young non-established stars compete to see who might be the breakout star of 2014. Past winners included Michael Bennett and Michael Elgin.
Also announced for the Ring of Honor TV taping is a huge match between former ROH World Champion Kevin Steen and the returning Chris Hero, who most recently wrestled in the WWE developmental system NXT. There will also be a World Television Championship match as new champion Tommaso Ciampa defends his title against Silas Young.
Tickets to the event are on sale through rohwrestling.com and the taping will take place on Jan. 4 in Nashville, Tenn.
