For the past few years, The WWE has held the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony the night before Wrestlemania and then showed an edited version of the show a few nights later. This year that will change as Wrestle View reported on Feb. 11 that the WWE will air the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony live on the WWE Network.
This is great news because, in the past, the edited versions of the broadcast omitted the wrestlers that the WWE felt were not as important. This included omitting the induction of the Von Erich family a few years back, one of the most popular wrestling families in the southern United States.
Now, everyone should get to see their favorites induction, whether it is someone popular like The Ultimate Warrior, or whoever the smaller names are who enter the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
The names announced so far for the 2014 induction ceremony include The Ultimate Warrior, Jake "The Snake" Roberts and Lita. Also expected to be inducted is legendary manager Paul Bearer, who died last year. There is said to be one other wrestler "on the same level" as Warrior and Roberts to hear their name called this year, and that is likely to be someone like The Honky Tonk Man, although Ravishing Rick Rude and Macho Man Randy Savage are still missing as well.
Also rumored is for the WWE to induct an actual match, that being the first Wrestlemania main event pitting Hulk Hogan and Mr. T against Rowdy Roddy Piper and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff.
The 2014 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony takes place on April 5 and will air live on the WWE Network.
