The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2014 Induction Ceremony will be held on Saturday April 5th at the New Orleans Arena and tickets for that event go on sale today through Ticketmaster. The event is a part of the week long festivities leading up the biggest pro wrestling entertainment show of the year, Wrestlemania XXX at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Sunday April 6th. Tickets for the WWE Hall of Game 2014 Induction Ceremony are available through Ticketmaster at this link.
WWE revealed the big headliner for this year’s Hall of Fame class this past Monday on ‘RAW’ and it’s none other than the Ultimate Warrior.
Warrior is a former WWE Champion and one of the biggest stars of the ‘80s and early 90’s. Coming up from World Class Championship Wrestling in Texas, Warrior became the first superstars to defeat the legendary Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania. His outlandish interviews and out-of-control energy made him a memorable star along with his monstrous strength.
Warrior had a very public feud with WWE for years, even bringing the company to court but in 2013 he made peace with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and company. Warrior is also known to be very outspoken and controversial with his real life opinions on the pro wrestling world, so it will be intriguing to see what he has to say in his acceptance speech.
When asked by fans earlier this week on Twitter what his thoughts about his upcoming Hall of Fame honors and the controversy surrounding it, he responded with the following tweet.
"Statement? Sure. First one to try to limit #WWEHOF speech to 140 anything - characters/words/pages//minutes/hours - gets clothesline." - Ultimate Warrior
There has been some rumors brewing that the Hulkster could actually induct the Warrior on April 5th. This would be another shocking part of this story as both Warrior and Hogan have feuded publicly and insulting each other in social media. Hogan was asked in a recent TMZ interview posted above this article, and he said he no longer has beef with Warrior. It appears time has healed wounds between Warrior and his former adversaries.
Another big part of the WM30 festivities is Wrestlemania Fan Axxess, a WWE produced event with live matches from WWE stars, autograph signings, Q&A sessions, and interactive exhibit. Fan Axxxess takes place this year on Thursday April 3rd to Sunday April 6th at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. There is more info at wrestlemania.com. Tickets for this fan fest go on sale on February 1, 2014 through Ticketmaster.
Pro Wrestling Examiner's Perspective: No matter what you think about the Ultimate Warrior, he is a big part of WWE history and is worthy of induction. Other Hall of Famers like the Million Dollar Man Ted Dibase have gone on the record in the past, saying Warrior is not worthy. You can not deny how popular Warrior was at his height and how he was for a period of time the second biggest star in the wrestling world during one of the hottest eras in the business.
