"The WWE Elimination Chamber" took place on Feb. 17 and the fourth match on the card was the huge grudge match pitting The Shield against the WWE's three hottest baby faces in John Cena, Ryback and Sheamus.
The Shield includes Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, three young hopefuls from the NXT developmental territories and they have been making life tough on everyone in the WWE lately. They have attacked numerous people without provocation and finally it took three of the WWE's biggest stars to stand up to them.
John Cena and Sheamus have joined forces with Ryback, who The Shield have screwed in two WWE championship matches already in his short career, to battle The Shield.
The match started when Cena, Sheamus and Ryback attack The Shield before they get to the ring and the fight is on early. Interestingly, much of the match had The Shield powering down John Cena and he spent most of the match in the ring, trying to make the tag.
He finally made the hot tag to Ryback and everything broke loose. The end came after Roman Reigns speared Sheamus through the ringside barricade, giving The Shield a three-on-two advantage. Just when The Shield were about to hit the triple powerbomb on Ryback, Cena came in for the save and hit the AA on Dean Ambrose.
Ryback lifted Seth Rollins for the Shell Shock, but Roman Reigns speared Ryback and Seth landed on top for the three count and the surprising upset victory, as The Shield beat three of the biggest stars in the WWE.
