According to a Feb. 23 report from SBNation.com, Randy Orton defeated John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Christian and Cesaro to retain his heavyweight championship belt during the historic WWE Elimination Chamber event that went down at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Bryan came out to the biggest applause of the night, but the WWE did not script him to win. Perhaps the best move of the Elimination Chamber main event was Sheamus' Brogue Kick of Orton when the champ tried to lock himself in one of the chamber's pods.
Orton turned in a vintage performance, but it was the Elimination Chamber co-main between The Wyatt Family and The Shield that truly stole the show.
In that bout, The Shield's Roman Reigns narrowly escaped one Sister Abigail finisher from Bray Wyatt, before getting caught in another one just seconds later.
Surprisingly, The Shield did not break up following the loss.
There had been some speculation from WWE fans that the growing tension between Reigns and fellow Shield member Dean Ambrose would boil over at Elimination Chamber, but the group remains in tact heading into Wrestlemania XXX.
Also on Sunday night's Elimination Chamber card, Alberto Del Rio attacked Batista with a crutch after pretending that he was too injured to compete at the event.
However, Batista survived the assault and went on to win the bout. Rumor had it that Brock Lesnar would interfere with the Batista vs Del Rio match, but he did not make a single appearance during the event.
In the Elimination Chamber pre-show bout, brothers Cody Rhodes and Goldust earned a victory over Ryback and Curtis Axel.
Additionally, this year's Elimination Chamber main card saw Big E retain his Intercontinental Championship Belt with a win over Jack Swagger of The Real Americans.
In other action, Titus O’Neil defeated Darren Young by pinfall and The New Age Outlaws retained their WWE Tag-Team Titles with a win over Jimmy and Jey Uso.
There was also an exciting divas match on the Elimination Chamber card, as Cameron defeated AJ Lee via disqualification.
Despite the victory by Cameron, Lee kept her title because the finish came by way of disqualification.
