WWE Elimination Chamber 2013 results: New WresteMania 29 matches shaping up

The WWE Elimination Chamber 2013 results last night produced several winners in matches which could lead them down the Road to WrestleMania 29. No new champions were produced during the event, but a new #1 contender emerged from the Elimination Chamber match. There was also an appearance by "Mr. Money in the Bank," Dolph Ziggler.

According to the IBTimes report on Feb. 18, John Cena and The Rock will headline WrestleMania 29 for their second straight year. The two fought in a match at last year's version in Miami, but this time the WWE Championship will be up for grabs. The Rock holds the title after defeating CM Punk in a tough situation last night where he couldn't be counted out or disqualified, or he'd lose his title. Punk didn't have the same stipulations and tried to bend the rules to the best of his advantage, but fell short to a few too many Rock Bottoms and People's Elbows.

In the World Heavyweight title match, it was Alberto Del Rio once again defeating the enormous Big Show to hold onto his title. Del Rio was able to apply his submission hold several times to Show, before slapping it on a third time. With the giant struggling to escape, he had nowhere to go, and finally tapped out.

The Elimination Chamber match came about halfway through the Pay-Per-View and featured Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and Jack Swagger as the final three men remaining. Jericho and Orton put on a great show, exchanging moves, with Orton ultimately dodging Jericho's Lionsault with some knees to the gut. Orton then hit a quick RKO on the staggering Jericho to eliminate him. Unfortunately for Randy, his Road to WrestleMania was altered when Jack Swagger stole a quick pinfall right after Orton got rid of Jericho. So now Swagger with his new "change America" and war veteran coach will take on the Mexican Alberto Del Rio for the title, unless Dolph Ziggler cashes in before then.

Other winners on the night included Dolph Ziggler in an impromptu match against Kofi Kingston. Following the win, Ziggler's henchman, Big E. Langston, went to work on Kofi, possibly setting up a future feud with him. Also winning their match was The Shield, who managed to divide Ryback and Cena somewhat. Ryback was the recipient of a spear that took him down for the pinfall, and seemed irritated that nobody helped him out. Will he be facing Cena or Sheamus in the future?

So now at least two matches seem somewhat booked for WrestleMania 29. Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Championship, and Cena vs. The Rock for the WWE Championship. There's still plenty of time left for Triple H to show up and challenge Brock Lesnar, and The Undertaker to return for his next streak victim.
