The WWE Elimination Chamber 2013 results for the World Heavyweight Championship match have been decided. In an early bout on the Pay-Per-View card, Albert Del Rio put his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line in another rematch with The Big Show. The winner of the match would very likely have a spot in a main event match at WrestleMania 29.
After an Elimination Chamber live stream pre-show, it was time for the main Pay-Per-View which began with Big Show vs. Del Rio first. According to a report from PWTorch on Feb. 17, this match featured plenty of near falls with Del Rio nearly losing his championship belt. Show didn't land the KO punch, but he managed to chokeslam Del Rio at one point for the near fall. He also had a huge seated splash off the second turnbuckle area which had Del Rio down for a 2 count.
Del Rio had several big moves of his own, including multiple Cross Armbreaker submissions. The first time, Show managed to get a foot on the bottom rope. On his attempt later, Show used his strength and size to stand up with Del Rio still on his arm, and then slammed the champion down to escape it.
It was towards the late part of the match when Ricardo Rodriguez got up on the apron to try to cause a distraction. An enraged Big Show kicked Del Rio's ring announcer off the apron, then picked up that bucket he brings to the ringside area. Show contemplated throwing it at Ricardo for several moments. Del Rio then ran over up on the corner and hit the enziguiri kick to smash the bucket into Show's head. After another enziguiri kick in the other corner, Del Rio put on his third and final Cross Armbreaker for the win.
Surprisingly, Dolph Ziggler did not show up to interrupt Del Rio's victory celebration during the early part of the Pay-Per-View. Ziggler is not scheduled for any matches on the card, but holds the Money in the Bank contract which he can cash in at any time he chooses for a World Heavyweight Championship match. So as of right now, Del Rio is heading to WrestleMania 29 as the champion.
