WWE.com has published their preview today for tonight’s Main Event on ION Television.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett, who retained the belt in a triple threat match against Chris Jericho and The Miz this past Monday on RAW, will take on R-Truth in a non-title match.
This is not the first match between Wade Barrett and R-Truth, with one of their more bouts occurring on a December edition of RAW. R-Truth was given the win in that encounter, but given Barrett’s status as champion, it’s unlikely he’ll be taking the loss tonight.
Wade Barrett has been something of a mainstay on Main Event in recent weeks, competing against Justin Gabriel on last weeks program and Randy Orton the week before.
Though not an integral piece of WWE programming, Main Event is typically one of the more enjoyable programs in WWE’s lineup. The pacing of the hour-long program seems just right, and usually the matches are of surprisingly high quality.
Main Event airs every Wednesday on ION Television at 8/7c.
