Despite previous reports that broke this weekend that retired NBA star Shaquille O'Neal would be wrestling at Wrestlemania 28 on April 1s, WWE.COM is refuting the story saying the follwoing:
Despite Shaquille O’Neal’s claim that he will compete at Wrestlemania XXVIII in Miami, WWE officials have informed WWE.com that the 15-time NBA All-Star is not scheduled to appear on the card.
This conflicts with months of rumors that Shaq would step into the WWE ring to have a match with the Big Show at the show of shows. The match seemed almost a foregone conclusion after months of rumors with O'Neal himself being quoted this past weekend in a HollywoodLife story where he confirmed the rumors were true. "Shaq-Fu" is still expected to appear at Wrestlemania in some way this year, but it seems wrestling fans will not get to see O'Neal take on Big Show in a super-heavyweight NBA vs.WWE battle.
