WWE.COM officially revealed today that WWE Champion C.M. Punk has been medically cleared to compete against Ryback in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match with the the title on the line on RAW on January 7th. Punk was originally scheduled to face Ryback in a TLC Match at last month's TLC Pay Per View but was removed from the card when he was forced to have emergency arthroscopic knee surgery.
Punk continued appear on WWE TV while on crutches with Paul Heyman at his side, where he continued complain about how he was disrespected by the fans and the WWE officials. He blamed his injury on Ryback, calling him stupid for attacking him, forcing the injury, and preventing the previously scheduled TLC title match. Punk even brought out his own personal doctor on RAW this past Monday, who said he could not compete against Ryback. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon hit the ring, saying that Punk would be evaluated by WWE medical officials and if Punk could not compete on the 7th, Paul Heyman would face Ryback.
WWE.COM notes in their article today that the final decision on Punk being cleared to wrestle Ryback will be revealed on WWE Main Event tonight on ION TV.
The January 7th RAW is already anticipated beyond the WWE Championship TLC match, as the Rock is set to appear to build anticipation for his shot at the title on January 28th at the Royal Rumble Pay Per View.
