When the WWE challenges Beck it must be "serious business." The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) company is looking to get Glenn Beck into its ring to confront the fans as well as Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger for their portrayal of a "take back America" type campaign.
According to The Inquisitr on Feb. 23, Glenn Beck started the new feud with WWE by calling them out as "stupid wrestling people" on TheBlaze TV. Due to his statements, WWE has invited Mr. Beck to come on WWE Monday Night Raw to explain himself. Of course he would be doing so to rowdy fans who yell "What?" after everything someone says when they're on a microphone.
The reason for Beck's "war of words" against WWE? It's all over a recent portrayal of two characters: Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter. Swagger, a wrestler nicknamed "The Real American," has started up a bold new campaign to take back America, with Zeb Coulter, said to be a military veteran, leading the way. The two have cut numerous promos in the ring and via video, such as on YouTube, to spread their message.
Part of that message they are ranting includes sending illegal immigrants out of the country and back home. One of the "immigrants" they are targeting with the message is Mexican-born wrestler Alberto Del Rio, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Swagger earned the right to face Del Rio for his title in early April at WrestleMania 29.
Beck said of the scenario: "I can take it from a lot of people. I can't take it form the stupid wrestling people."
To address Beck's comments, Zeb Coulter (real name Wayne Keown) said in a new YouTube video:
“We are in the entertainment business. Everything we do as our characters is designed to tell stories. Right now the story we’re telling is that Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger are using the current, relevant, and topical story of immigration to target the WWE world champion Alberto Del Rio. Also a character played my my friend Jose Rodriguez. In our story, we are the antagonists, and Alberto is the protagonist.”
Zeb, went on to issue a challenge to Glenn Beck, saying "many of your followers are WWE fans and they understand the difference between reality and entertainment. Are you so out of touch with your own audience, Glenn, or are you just a stupid political commentator?"
Beck's answer to the challenge? It appears he is too heavily "booked" to do the appearance on WWE. Is this wise on Beck's part? Probably. The last thing he wants is to get put into a Jack Swagger ankle lock while Zeb Coulter rants on the microphone at him. If anyone would win from this situation, it would be WWE, who loves controversy and media coverage, and is trying to bring Beck right into the middle of it for their benefit.
Also of note, Swagger just recently got himself arrested over multiple charges including a DUI, possession of marijuana and speeding. Swagger, real name Jacob Hager, is due to appear in court over the DUI charge, and was reportedly taken out of any appearances at live events this weekend. This may give Glenn Beck more fuel for his fire, or he my have simply moved on to his next feud.
