According to the Wrestling Observer yesterday, Hulkamania is set to come back to WWE in a special role this year for Wrestlemania 30 on April 6th live on pay per view. Hulk Hogan’s role for the biggest wrestling show of the year, WM30 is that the legendary wrestler will not wrestle a match at the show but host the event which was reportedly determined on Monday by WWE officials.
This gives the Hulkster a role similar to what the Rock did in 2011 at Wrestlemania 27 in Atlanta. So wrestling fans should expect Hogan will likely cut some rabble rousing promo or two on WM30 at the Superdome in New Orleans, but not have physicality on the show. This follows news last week that WWE was concerned about having Hogan perform in a match.
Of course, the company is still holding off on announcing this news and Hogan himself has been quiet on the long anticipated WWE return. When Hogan does make his return appearance, WWE will make a massive moment out of it.
Pro Wrestling Examiner’s Perspective: This is a great role for Hogan. At his age and the amount of serious health problems he has endured, Hulk Hogan does not need to ever take another bump for his Hulkamaniacs. No matter what WWE will turn their mainstream media presence up with Hogan’s participation in Wrestlemania at a critical time when they launch the WWE Network, a digital over-the-top service which will include all of their monthly pay-per-view events.
