WWE is trickling out more info about Monday's Slammy Awards episode of RAW on USA Network, and today they announced the nominees for the 2013 Superstar of the Year. The three-hour show will feature WWE legends and stars presenting Slammy Awards for several categories including Match of the Year , OMG Moment of the Year, and more. Fans can vote for each award through the WWE app for mobile smart phones and tablets.
Here are the nominees for the 2013 Superstar of the Year which will be one of the more important awards handing out on the show.
The front runners for the award have to be Daniel Bryan and John Cena. Bryan had a red hot year, breaking out of the mid card after successful run with Kane as Team Hell No and headlining several pay per views including Summerslam. Of course recently, he got kicked back down the card recently and is distant from a WWE Championship run that fans have craving to see him have.
John Cena had yet another banner year. He defeated the Rock in a mega-match for the WWE title at Wrestlemania. That a huge win alone could get him the SOTY Slammy that he also won last year.
The intriguing part of this year' Superstar of the Year is that Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be presenting the award. If Daniel Bryan wins, it will be a tense exchange to say the least since the last time Bryan was in the ring with his former teacher Michaels, he was forcing him to tap out to the Yes Lock. Michaels helped Triple H and Randy Orton screw Bryan out of the WWE title in October at the Hell in a Cell pay per view, when he was overseeing the match as a special guest referee.
