WWE announced details today about their annual Tribute to the Troops show confirming the special show for members of the United States Armed Forces which will air on NBC on Saturday, December 28th at 8pm CST. WWE will partner up with the United States Air Force for the first time with this year's Tribute show being produced at Joint Base Lewis McChord in McChord, Washington which is the largest operating military base in the world.
Multi-platinum pop rock band Daughtry and comedian ventriloquist Jeff Dunhamwill perform this year's Tribute to the Troops. Celebrities from movies and film like Will Farrel, Christina Applegate, Stephen Colbert, and Bruce Willis will film goodwill messages for the troops to air on the special as well. Of course, WWE Superstars and Divas will perform in the ring in yet-to-be-determined matches at the event which will be taped for TV in the next few weeks.
WWE has worked in correlation with Washington State Governor Jay Inslee in selecting the joint base for this show.“We are proud to continue this annual tradition with our partners at Joint Base Lewis-McChord and Governor Inslee.” said WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. “This is a unique opportunity for our Service members and their families to be a part of something special. Many of our troops are passionate WWE fans, and the excitement is already building.” said Colonel H. Charles Hodges, Jr., JBLM Joint Base Commander in a press release.
