The appearance of Sting has been further speculated for "WWE 2K15." According to a report from Attack of the Fan Boy on July 9, the legendary wrestler posted a mysterious message through his Twitter page. He hinted that something will be happening on July 14, which is when the next episode of Monday Night Raw will be airing on the USA Network.
The website believes that Sting may not actually show up on the television show. Instead, the company may save his appearance of the legend for either around Summerslam, which takes place in Aug. of this year, or next March during Wrestlemania season. Instead, the announcement will most likely be related to the upcoming PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One game.
For "WWE 2K14," 2K Sports decided to use The Ultimate Warrior as a pre-order bonus. The wrestler did not appear in a wrestling ring for the company until several months later at Wrestlemania XXX. He ended up passing away shortly afterwards. During a special that aired on the WWE Network, Sting appeared on WWE programming for the first time to pay tribute to his long-time friend.
2K Sports could do something similar for "WWE 2K15." The publisher may use Sting, who has not yet appeared in a video game from the company, as a way to get fans of the wrestler to pre-order this year's installment of the franchise. WWE has been negotiating with Sting over the past several months for a DVD release (and maybe even a match against The Undertaker).
More details are expected to be unveiled in the coming months for "WWE 2K15" as the video game has an official release date on Oct. 28 in North America and three days later in Europe. It is the first title in the series to be heading to the PS4 and Xbox One (along with the PS3 and Xbox 360). The game's box art (via the "WWE Games" Twitter page) can be seen near the top of this article. You can pre-order the wrestling title at Amazon.com: "WWE 2K15."
