He went on to talk about the financial success of “WWE 2K14.” The software sales of the first video game of the series published by Take Two Interactive managed to surpass the company’s expectations. The executive also praised the DLC structure, which added new playable characters and other contents.

Due to the success of last year’s edition, Take Two Interactive is looking to further leveraging 2K’s marketing power and development expertise in “WWE 2K15” and other future games in the series. You can find some screens from “WWE 2K14” in the gallery to the left of the article and his comments below:

Our WWE franchise has quickly proven to be a successful addition to our portfolio Sales of WWE 2K14 have exceeded our expectations and the title is being supported with add-on content including a Season Pass featuring many of fan-favourite WWE superstars and legends. We believe there is a meaningful opportunity to grow this series by further leveraging 2K’s marketing power and development expertise.

“WWE 2K14” was released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on Oct. 30, 2013. However, Take Two Interactive has only confirmed that “WWE 2K15” is coming to the PS4 and Xbox One. The development teams at Visual Concepts and Yuke’s previously hinted that the game engine may receive an overhaul.

Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment both launched next-generation systems in late 2013. The PS4 console was released on Nov. 15th while the Xbox One came out on Nov. 22nd in the United States.
