Cory Ledesma has provided several details in regards to the pinning system for the upcoming Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 video game, “WWE 2K14.” In an interview with Game Planet on Oct. 19, the creative director acknowledged that fans were not happy with the bugs that plagued the pin sequences in “WWE ’13.”
The glitches resulted in only a few occasions ending with a two-count, which remove a lot of the drama and tension from a match. In “WWE 2K14,” Cory Ledesma promised that the bugs have been addressed. The development team also improved the system by having a more accurate kick-out window based on the maneuver that was used by the opponent. You can check out some screenshots from this year’s edition of the wrestling simulation franchise in the slideshow near the top of this article and the comments from the creative director below (courtesy of Game Planet):
A lot of fans were upset about some bugs we had in the game, such as the pin sequences only showing two-counts in certain situations. Not having a two-count in a lot of situations will take away the drama in a match. Those are some of the bugs we wanted to make sure we addressed, and we’ve really improved the pin system as a whole. We kind of took it upon ourselves to re-do that system a bit, to make sure that you’re getting a more accurate pin count, and that the window in which you need to kick-out of a pin was more representative of the prior move that your opponent did.
Cory Ledesma and the rest of his development staff at Yuke’s got additional support from Visual Concepts due to a new publishing deal that was signed between 2K Games and WWE. “WWE 2K14” will be released by the end of this month on Oct. 29 for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 current-generation consoles in the North American region. The same video game will be launching on Nov. 1 for international territories. You can pre-order the product from Amazon in the following link: “WWE 2K14”
