The news that WWE 2K14 included Hulk Hogan made some people believe that Hogan signed an agreement with the WWE to appear in the game. According to prowrestling.com on Aug. 27, Eric Bischoff came out and said that Hogan signed nothing to appear in the game.
This comes on the heels of TNA Wrestling rumors that there was heat on Hulk Hogan backstage for his signing the deal to appear in WWE 2K14. This was used as the reason for Hogan not appearing on TV for the last month. However, it turns out that the absence of Hulk Hogan was more of a financial decision on TNA’s part.
Now, Bischoff has lashed out at online wrestling “dirt rags,” as he calls them. Bischoff has no lost love for the Internet Wrestling Community, despite using them to his advantage in his days running WCW. With much discussion about the death of WCW online, it seems he still holds a grudge.
Bischoff came out and said that WWE 2K14 is allowed to use the likeness of Hulk Hogan in their games, as they own that likeness for these purposes. He then said that this was just “parasites and morons” who run the wrestling news sites reporting based on half truths.
Hulk Hogan will appear as both the classic Hulk Hogan and Hollywood Hogan in WWE 2K14.
