Eric Bischoff has provided some interesting comments in regards to the inclusion of Hulk Hogan as a playable character in the upcoming Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 video game, “WWE 2K14.” According to a report by Wrestling News World on Aug. 27, the former producer and president of World Championship Wrestling stated that there was no direct deal between Hulk Hogan and 2K Sports for the video game. Instead, World Wrestling Entertainment was simply using their assets and trademarks for the character. You can check out the comments from Eric Bischoff below:
There is no Hulk Hogan/2K Sports deal. WWE is simply utilizing tradmarks/assets they currently own in a repackaged video game. Nothing new.
Hulk Hogan is expected to play a big part in the new “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode of “WWE 2K14.” He has two different variations: his classic “Hulkamania” persona in addition to the “New World Order” version. Hulk Hogan will be featured in at least two matches: his confrontation against Andre The Giant at WrestleMania III and his battle against Dwayne “The Rock Johnson at WrestleMania X-8.
Both Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan are currently employed at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Even if he is working at another company, Hulk Hogan (whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea), will still receive royalty for having his characters portrayed in “WWE 2K14.”
This year’s edition of the video game will be released first in the North American region on Oct. 29. You can check out Hulk Hogan and other wrestlers in the slideshow near the top of this article. You can pre-order the product from Amazon in the following links: “WWE 2K14”
