Cory Ledesma has made some comments in regards to the roster selection process in the upcoming “WWE 2K14” for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. According to a report by 411 Mania on Aug. 28, the creative director behind the project stated that his development team had to overcome a big hurdle when selecting a particular playable character in the wrestling video game.
Cory Ledesma mentioned that he has some issues with adding Hulk Hogan to the roster of “WWE 2K14.” This is because the legendary figure is no longer with the WWE as he is currently working for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. The game director and his team persevered through the problems as the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode would not have otherwise been possible without the presence of the iconic wrestler.
The creative director also disclosed that adding Hulk Hogan to the roster helped the team secure other past superstars that are no longer with the WWE. You can check out his comments below (courtesy of 411 Mania):
We knew once we could overcome that hurdle, and Hulk Hogan was able to get into the game, we knew that it was going to be kinda downhill from there and we'd be able to secure a lot of the talent that might not be with WWE anymore.
Hulk Hogan will be appearing in at least three of the matches from the “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode in “WWE 2K14.” His battles against Andre The Giant and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are featured. He also made a special appearance as a part of the match between Ric Flair and Macho Man Randy Savage.
